Child safety standards
Shappa, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Shapa mobile application and related services (the “Services”). This page describes our published standards regarding the prevention of child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including how users can report concerns and how to contact us.
Disclaimer: This document summarizes our safety commitments and processes. It does not constitute legal advice. We may update these standards as our Services, laws, or industry practices evolve.
1. Our commitment
We prohibit CSAE in any form on or through the Services. That includes grooming, solicitation, sharing or requesting sexual content involving minors, trafficking, and any sexual exploitation of children, whether depicted, described, or implied.
Shapa is a platform for connecting pet owners and caregivers (e.g. dog walkers). We do not tolerate misuse of messaging, profiles, media, or any feature to harm children or facilitate abuse.
2. Age and eligibility
The Services are not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). Accounts are intended for adults who meet our eligibility requirements in our Terms of Service. We do not knowingly allow CSAE and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law (see our Privacy Policy).
3. Standards we enforce
We maintain rules that prohibit content and behavior that sexualizes, endangers, or exploits minors, including but not limited to:
- Sharing, requesting, or distributing sexual or suggestive material involving minors;
- Grooming, enticement, or attempts to meet minors for sexual purposes;
- Using the Services to facilitate trafficking or abuse;
- Harassment, threats, or coercion directed at minors;
- Circumventing our safety measures or impersonating minors to cause harm.
Violations may result in content removal, account suspension or termination, preservation of records as required by law, and referral to law enforcement where appropriate.
4. Detection, review, and enforcement
We combine technical measures, user reporting, and human review (where applicable) to identify violations of our policies. We may remove content, restrict features, disable accounts, and cooperate with authorities when we believe there is a risk of harm or when required by law.
5. How to report safety concerns
If you become aware of CSAE or related conduct on or through the Services, or if you believe a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.
Report to Shapa: Email contact@shapa.net with the subject line “Child safety report.” Include relevant details (e.g. usernames, timestamps, screenshots where safe to provide) so we can investigate. We take reports seriously and may follow up as permitted by law and safety considerations.
Support: For general app issues, you may also reach support@shapa.net.
6. Law enforcement and legal process
We cooperate with law enforcement and cooperate with valid legal requests as required by applicable law, including in connection with child safety matters. Requests should be directed through appropriate legal channels and include sufficient detail for us to respond.
